A fourth coronavirus related death has reportedly been recorded in Ghana’s capital, Accra.
The figure for confirmed cases in the country, however, still stands at 68.
Though the latest piece of unfortunate news is yet to be confirmed by the Ghana Health Service, an international research organisation that tracks the situation in the country, Worldometer, has published it on its website.
Worldometer had earlier published on its portal that confirmed cases in Ghana has shot up to 93.
Earlier on Wednesday, March 25, Ghana recorded its third coronavirus death.
The third death had occurred at the 37 Military Hospital and involved the wife of a two-star general, officials of the Ghana Health Service had announced.
The sudden spike in case incidence is as a result of the mandatory quarantine and compulsory testing for all travellers entering Ghana, as directed by the President.

One Patient Recovers
Meanwhile, a Chinese national who contracted the novel Coronavirus and was part of the 65 active cases recorded in Ghana has recovered fully.
Reports received indicates that the patient was one of the few people who flew into the country in the early stages of the outbreak in Ghana.
After showing the symptoms, he was quarantined and tested positive for COVID-19 pandemic.
"After a few days of treatment at the Atonsu Agogo Hospital in the Ashanti Region, he showed remarkable improvement," the report stated further.
According to reliable sources, the patient walked out of the medical facility on Wednesday after being certified clean of the virulent infection after several tests showed he was negative.
Details of his recovery is yet to be given by the Ghana Health Service.

why are you ppl thinking fear in Ghanaians? dont you ppl think we should be afraid?
You take your source from worldometer when you should be the one to give them the actual genuine statistics of your own country? What a shame
Pls give us the right figures and stop the fear and panic in the county. I also want the president to put the necessary steps in place to curb this menance.
"...like your grandmother advising you then you say you are going to ask your mother. Who gave birth to your mother". Peacefm in these times the kind of news we would want to know and read is news that emanate from Ghana. GHS is there to give us up to date information that concern Ghanaians and so that is where we would have love to hear you quote from. How can worldometer report better than GHS.
As a matter of urgency, I plead the state agencies responsible for public health to provide the citizenry with information on the number of persons affected by the Corona virus and the geographical location of these persons. It is sad to see media houses struggle to provide unified information on the number of cases. Is it possible for Ghana Health Service to get a dedicated website for reporting the corona virus cases and the location of these cases? We appreciate the sacrifices our country men are doing but please get your communication persons deliver on their core job. If possible engage experts from the industry to help your team for this exercise and after the dust is settled you decommission the team.
We thank God for the mandatory quarantine. The number of confirmed cases will definately rise since it's an ongoing exercise. My prayer is for God to help us have more recoveries than deaths. May all those affected be healed.
Peace fm has done no wrong. Yesterday, worldometer published on its site that Ghana has recorded 93 confirmed cases with 4 death for which i witnessed it. But I checked it today and they have reviewed their figures to 68 with 4 deaths. I will urge peace fm because of their dignity to revise this story. I will also plead with them to use reliable site for their stories since this can put fear in Ghanaians. Thank you
If is has not been confirmed, why put it out there and cause fear and panic? Also the authentic source for all this in Ghana is The Ministry of Information, not Worldometer.
I just checked at worldometer and it stands at 68 so where from the 93.please stop spreading fear" Me too i just checked and its now at 68. A few hours ago in the afternoon (im in sydney, australia) worldometer had the figures at 93. im confused why it has changed to 68..
I can boldly say it true. I saw it on a friend's status some minutes after midnight. I made reference to ghanahealtservice website and saw different figures, 68. I then check on the worldmeter website and confirm same figures reported by peacefm with even 2+ new death making 4.in 24hrs. If you didn't see it read pass and don't insult. I don't know why they should be massaging the figures.
