The District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Afigya Kwabre South in the Ashanti Region Hon. Christian Adu-Poku (APC) has accused the police in his district of attacking him.
According to the DCE he was on his usual rounds when he realised a police pickup was parked with people and he wanted to find out why; only to be assaulted by one of the police officers.

There is widespread brutality by the security operatives manning this operation. The law does not permit any security official to beat anybody. We have seen videos of people been asked to do frog jumps and whilst they were doing it they were still beaten on top! What kind of barbarism is this? They are also to operate within the law and not take things into their own hands. And some are using it to settle personal scores. There are too many criminal elements in the security services and again it is politicians who get some of these criminals into the service through protocol. A very dysfunctional country to live in where nothing works!
The so-called Ghana police and military should learn to be professional than mis-using theirs mandate of calling to duty. Enforcement of rules doesn't mean they should be punching and beaten up residents and citizens of Ghana. They must be educated periodically after passing out theirs training whiles on the field as well.
The security agencies have flaunt the president directives. Asutsuare junction is in Shai Osudoku district, was not part of the district announced by the president for lockdown. Being in uniform does not make them superior to anyone. They are being paid and housed by the people they are assaulting.
This DCE should be sacked immediately. As a dce he need to act with decorum. The police will have spoken to him well if he had acted well.
It's is barbaric to hit ANYONE without a blow outside boxing/wrestling context/training. It doesn't matter who is involved
Being a DCE does not mean that you are above the law and therefore to wantonly flout a directive issued by the President. It is his lack of discipline and respect for the law officers of the land that led to him being given a beating to knock sense into his head. Why did he not contact the head of the police force in the area for permission to drive around to distribute whatever he claims to be distributing? They are given a little post then they start behaving like they own the world. Any where in the world if you disobey the law, the hammer of justice is unforgiving and ruthless. Next time he will learn to obey the law.
Assault is an assault. police/military has no right to beat someone for not staying indoors. it is an assault and these officers must be cautioned. There's widespread of these brutalities all over Ghana. what is the government doing about this. this issue is about protecting lives and not meant for destroying lives. Africa and ***barred word***n e s s.
These are the people the police and military should keep beating up and stop beating the ordinary people who are genuinely going to get food or use the public toilets. Wh3 ma no? You haven't seen anything yet.
