Some residents of Adabraka has said that despite the heavy downpour just a few areas have been affected with floods.
This follows desilting exercise been done over the previous weeks to cub the reoccurring floods during and after downpours.
Speaking to Nii, a resident of the area, machines were seen over the previous weeks trying to desilt the river. Adding that that was a good start for the residents.
According to Nii, most homes, offices and the markets were not seen flooded so much today until before after a 5 minute.
He further called on residents to desists from dumping rubbish into the Odaw .
An officer in the area called Samuel Addo added that his area in Adabraka was flooded following the dumping of more rubbish into the Odaw by residents.
“The Odaw is almost full again because of those staying around that area. We are tired of the floods and they must come and desilt it as soon as possible,” he said.
He further pleaded with residents to listen to the advice to stop littering the area with rubbish, in order to save the entire community from another atrocities.
” we lost many people preciously, following this same attitude of dumping rubbish into the Odow, I will plead with everyone to guard their children and friends from such act”
He added that offenders will be arrested in order to witness a flood-free day once again.
