The Managing Director of the State Transport Company (STC), Nana Akomea has reacted to a recent accident involving an STC bus at Kyekyewere in the Eastern Region.
An articulator truck crashed into two buses: the STC bus with registration number GE 8131-16 and the other with registration number GT 4997-20 killing over 10 people and injuring over 50 on Tuesday.
Nana Akomea who was contributing to a panel discussion on Peace FM's morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, expressed sadness over the incident and urged that the Police be enforced to ensure strict adherence to road traffic regulations.
"The police must be resourced enough to check the tyre pressures of buses and trucks that usually use the highways as well as the load they carry," he said.
