Today marks International Women's Day; a day set aside to celebrate the hard work and great efforts of women in the world.
The International Women's Day which is annually observed on March 8 is aimed at celebrating the socio-economic and political achievements of women globally.
It cements women rights and empowerment and tells the world about the unique role of women to the betterment of the family, economy and the world at large.
On this day, the Global Institute For Leadership And Capacity Building, a group with sole responsibility to to empower women as well as honor their immense contributions to societal growth, is celebrating all women in Ghana.
Some notable personalities that the group celebrates are the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MASLOC, Alberta Afia Akoto, Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle and daughter of the late former President JJ Rawlings, Zanetor Rawlings, Media Personalities Shirley Tibilla popularly called Cookietee (TV3) and Sandra Ohemeng (Adom TV) and a host of others.
''We celebrate you for all you do in your various fields of endeavor'', the group says and urges all women to ''choose to challenge'' themselves to the top.
