Kwesi Pratt has slammed government over the current irregular electricity supply in the nation.
Some communities in the Greater Accra and Ashanti Regions have been listed by the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) to experience power cuts for months.
The company says it is undertaking maintenance works on some lines.
The current power outages have become a matter of concern with some Ghanaians fearing the era of dumsor has resurfaced but the government says this situation cannot be likened to the dumsor situation under the regime of former President John Mahama.
But to Kwesi Pratt, whether it is dumsor or not is inconsequential.
''Those of us who are forced to use generator to power our business, it increases our electricity cost sometimes by ten times. So, it is not the name that's important to us. To call it dumsor or not, it's insignificant to us. We need electricity for the nation's development. If we want lights to work for the nation to develop, the CPP is not in power, GCPP is not in power, NDC isn't in power; it's the NPP that's in power. It's the NPP that has the authority to make a change'', he said on Peace FM's ''Kokrokoo''.
What matters, to him, is for the government to fix the problem and stop the unnecessary arguments.
''We're not looking for history. Whether we call it dumsor or not doesn't matter to us. We need electricity to do our work.
''Those saying this is not dumsor, I want to ask when the lights are off, don't we switch it on? If we put the lights off and switch it back on, is it not dumsor?''
