Former Central Regional Minister and a staunch member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ama Benyiwa Doe, christened Comfort Saah has passed on according to family sources.
The former MP for Gomoa West constituency passed on at age 71.
According to family sources, she died in the early hours of Sunday, September 19, 2021.
Ama Benyiwa-Doe was born in 1950 and hails from Gomoa West in the Central Region of Ghana.
She served as a Member of Parliament from 1992 to 2004. After losing her seat, she continued to work for the NDC as the National Women’s Organizer.
In January 2009, she was nominated by President Mills as the Central Regional Minister and also served as a member of the Pan-African Parliament.
