The National Lottery Authority led by its Director General, Sammi Awuku, has paid a courtesy call on Inspector General of Police (IGP), COP George Akuffo Dampare on Monday, 8th November, 2021.
Speaking to the media at the meeting, NLA Public Relations Officer (PRO), Goodfellow Dei Ofei noted that the NLA's visit was aimed to congratulate the IGP and wish him well on his appointment.
He further indicated that their meeting was also to form a security team to clamp down on the activities of illegal lotto operators, popularly called banker-to-banker, to help generate revenue for national development.
He said the NLA will soon establish and deploy a lotto task force to arrest the wayside operators.
“Those who flout the law would be prosecuted so we believe working closely with Ghana Police and the Military will promote the operations of NLA.”
