Henry Quartey, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, says tricycle, popularly called 'pragya', riders will soon not be allowed to operate in Accra.
In an interview with Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' programme, the Regional Minister disclosed that the government will in two months time establish a bye-law to outlaw the movement of 'pragya' within the Region.
He emphasized that offenders will have their tricycles confiscated.
This, to him, is to ensure that the 'pragya' riders do not pose any further threats on the roads as they are said to contribute to road accidents in the Region.
"I'm sending this caution, very soon, we will go and make another bye-law and we will restrict the movement of 'pragya' in the CBD(Central Business District) and Tema areas. So, if you are going to buy some, make your mind up to work around Amasaman and its environs but for us to see pragya moving at Circle, Makola; no! Outright, we will confiscate it," he said.
