Aspiring National NASPA, Raymond Asante has disclosed his vision when voted for as President.

According to him, his “objective to serve as the national NASPA president is in tandem with the dictum. The journey to serve as a leader at all levels is a conversation of ideation in relation to the problems of the dispensation”.

“When given the nod, I would work closely with the executive body and Management of the national service secretariat to ensure that the conundrums and pressing issues of the national service personnel are addressed urgently. My vision is to see the welfare of the 2021/2022 national service personnel and more practically that of the personnel of the offing service year (2022/2023) is treated as an utmost priority and well promoted at the district, regional and national level", he said.

He also outlined his mission saying "to use our Internal resources  and External Links/Networks to promote our welfare, seek sponsorship for the Association and to build an integrative network" .

He added that, in collaboration with the executive body, he will ensure continuous engagements with management of the Secretariat to pay the monthly stipend of the national service personnel swiftly in order to cushion them.

"The timely release of the monthly stipend would bar the ordinary service person from facing any form of excruciating hardship during their service year period", he stated.

He continued that the "National NASPA will liaise with all regional executives to help tackle allawa issues across the various regions. The office of the national NASPA President together with the National Finance Committee would look out for Regions that have been able to solve issues pertaining to the delay in allowances of some national service personnel properly and use these Regions as a case study. There will be a 24/7 hotline available to all regional executives to provide information and also to provide them with any form of assistance relating to NASPA and its concomitant activities".

In terms of sponsorship, he noted; "The Executive body would ensure that the NASPA brand would be given more attention to make it appealing and catchy to cooperate bodies, private firms and government institutions to help secure sponsorship. Through sponsorship drives and strategic fundraising, an account will be created to aid all Regions embark on special initiatives that resonate with the interest and welfare of the service personnel.

"This policy is not lip-service as seen in a plethora of policy documents but an initiative that would certainly be seen the day before the end of my tenure when given the mandate to serve as the national NASPA President. A member of the Association that shall secure a sponsorship package for the Association stands to benefit 10% off the sponsorship value. This would serve as an impetus for national service personnel to put their shoulders to the wheel to ensure a collective progress of NASPA."

"National NASPA will partner government institutions such as National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme(NEIP), National Youth Authority(NYA), Youth Employment Authority (YEA) and Ministry of Youth and Sports and the private sector to introduce the NASPA Business Pitch. The Business Pitch aims to provide start-up funds to the service personnel. Do you have an existing business or a new business idea? NASPA will create an enabling platform for you to pitch your business for cash and mentorship investment.

"We will also bring on board business incubators like Accra Digital Centre, MEST Ghana, Impact Hub, iSpace Foundation, Kosmos Innovation center to help drive and build on entrepreneurial skills. We will organize skills workshops that will add value to the ordinary service person and ensure that they are endowed with the requisite skills that employers are looking out for on the job market", he added.
