Amit Agrawal, Country Head of Olam Agri in Ghana, has been honoured with the CEO of the Year award in Agri-Business and Food Processing at the just-ended 7th Ghana CEO Summit held at Kempinski Hotel in Accra.

This marks Mr. Agrawal’s second consecutive recognition by the Summit for excellent leadership in Agribusiness and Food processing, having been decorated as the overall CEO of the year in the private sector in 2022, sturdily affirming his reputation as an exemplary leader in the agriculture and food industries.

The CEO Summit, organized by the CEO Network Ghana, is an annual business leadership forum that draws industry players and policymakers together to discuss Ghana’s potential for private-public sector collaboration in exploring opportunities and ideas for addressing the economy’s most significant challenge.

Reacting to his recognition, Amit Agrawal said, "I am deeply honoured to be recognized as the CEO of the Year in both Agribusiness and Food Processing for the second year in a row. These awards are a testament to the collective efforts of the entire team at Olam Agri Ghana, whose dedication and hard work have propelled us to new heights”.

“I am proud of what we have achieved together, and I remain committed to driving sustainable growth and creating a lasting impact in Ghana's agricultural and food processing sectors," the Olam Agri Country Head added.

The theme for this year’s CEO forum, “Economic Sovereignty, Sustainability, Corporate Governance, and Digital Industrial Transformation: New Paths for Growth and Prosperity. A private-public sector CEO dialogue and learning,” was selected to provide a platform for promoting conversations on and around ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and its impact on sustainability and business growth.

Victoire de Wever, the CSR Partnership and Engagement Manager at Olam Agri, seized the opportunity offered by the forum, to speak on the company's ESG strategy for addressing climate, nature, and livelihoods, and in the process, highlighted the company's efforts to support farmers and farming communities in sustainable growth, improving nutrition and embracing climate-smart practices on and off farms to reduce climate impact while fostering growth.

Olam Agri is a differentiated food, feed, and fibre agri-business with a global origination footprint, processing capabilities, and a deep understanding of market needs built over 33 years.

The company has a strong presence in high-growth emerging markets and products across grains & oilseeds, animal feed and protein, rice, edible oils, specialty grains & seeds, cotton, wood products, rubber, and commodity financial services and is positioned at the heart of global food and agri-trade flows with more than 38 million MT in volume traded annually.
