Renowned legal practitioner, Martin Kpebu, has accused Ghanaian politicians of being the reason why Ghana is not making any progress in its development process.
According to him, the only ‘correct’ politician, Ghana has had is the late former President, John Evans Atta Mills, who always put the interest of the country first before his.
Kpebu, who made these remarks in an interview on Asempa FM, described the remaining politicians in Ghana as criminals who are only interested in enriching themselves.
“Politicians are usually crooks . . . bad boys and girls. NDC, NPP, all of them are crooks. Apart from Atta Mills who did not steal from us, the rest are crooks . . . Atta Mills was an honest man, the rest have been dribbled with corruption.
“We must have a special session on politicians and profile them, otherwise they would keep deceiving Ghanaians, these are crooks.
“ . . you would be there and your classmate who is not even doing well like you are, gets a position and all of a sudden, he builds a mansion. These guys are causing us headaches,” he said in Twi.
He added that politicians would lead Ghana to its end if Ghanaians remain silent on how they have been stealing from the country.
He said that the amounts of money reported to have been found at the home and in bank accounts of the former Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Dapaah, show the kind of mayhem, politicians are causing the country.
The lawyer added that if the homes and bank accounts of Ghanaian politicians are searched, the monies that would be recovered would be enough to transform the country.

always talking about others not himself. so lawyers are what, if he can tell including himself. he will say he is not a politician or appointee. who told him only prof mills did not steal and what is the basis for singling out prof mills. the law is really an ***barred word*** so any one can pick anything and throw it out. the journalist too are the worse as they bring on anyone. general statements without any proofs cannot stand any truth
@Dee Cola, all that the guy Sena was saying is that if today or tomorrow Martin Kpebu gets political appointment, does he become a crook? It is wrong to classified every politician as crook as you said Prof Mills did not steal.
HOLLOW!
@Sena Ahiabu, did you read carefully the story? He condemned both NDC and NPP as the same corrupt lot and singled out only late Prof Atta Mills who didnt't steal Ghana's money(which is true)! As a matter of fact in the last elections Martin Kpebu voted for NPP ! People like @Sena Ahiabu are the reason why we have the kind of corrupt politicians we have today. They will always blindly support a party even if they are corrupt. And this is the problem. If Ghanaians can unite against corruption irrespective of who engages in it these corrupt politicians will be forced to change. But we are very partisan in condemning wrong doing: people from certain political parties are always right no matter what they do whilst others are always wrong no matter what they do! We must change!
As Mahama has promise you a deputy Attorney General position when comes to power, in the unlikely event Mahama coming to power, you would very soon become crook. Avu kokoro
I agree with you but master the politician's money cannot turn this country. Most countries that are developed have successfully stole from other countries and developed. We are talking about billions. Our major trouble is not the corruption, for all countries are corrupted in their own way. Our major problem is allowing the Western World to continually rob us
I am with you on this! Ghana is just their play-ground and if leaders(I don't mean dealers) don't emerge from this crisis Ghana is finished!
