Dr. Benjamin Otchere-Ankrah has impressed on the energy providers, particularly the Electricity Company of Ghana and GRIDCo, to resolve the power crisis in the country.
The Governance lecturer at the Central University registered his displeasure with the electricity situation where the lights go off for many hours and days destroying food, home appliances and businesses of some Ghanaians.
The citizens have been bitterly complaining about the refusal of the Electricity Company of Ghana to release a power schedule to guide them in planning their daily activities.
According to the energy distributor, the power cuts are as a result of localized faults and they are working around the clock to rectify the problem.
Speaking during Peace FM's morning show "Kokrokoo", Dr. Otchere-Ankrah asked the ECG and GRIDCo to treat the issue with urgency stressing "every single thing now is dependent on energy. All sectors from classroom to everywhere depends on energy, let's solve it".
He also slammed the government over how they are treating Ghanaians in the wake of the electricity challenges, particularly mentioning the Energy Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh and his role in this energy crisis.
"Let's learn from our past," he advised.
