Senior Researcher, Professor Smart Sarpong has cautioned the heads of the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to utilize the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) to improve the road networks of their communities.
Over 2000 equipment have been provided by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to be shared among the MMDAs.
The equipment were commissioned during the unveiling of the DRIP at the Black Star Square on Wednesday, July 31.
This project is to enhance the roads across the nation and improve the lives of Ghanaians.
Prof. Smart Sarpong advised the MMDAs' heads not to take the equipment for their private use.
"The machines must be put to appropriate use", he said on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" morning show, stressing "don't let the machines end up in your homes...If your constituency or district has no need for roads and so the machines won't be useful to you, look for your adjoining constituencies and give it to them".
