The Christian Council of Ghana on Thursday launched an official cloth for its 80th anniversary celebration this year.
The blue-coloured cloth, which bears the emblem and pictures of past executives of the Council, is to demonstrate togetherness among Christians in the country.
Reverend Dr. David Dartey, General Secretary of the Council who launched the cloth in Accra, reiterated the Councils lead role in promoting dialogue among members to ensure peaceful co-existence.
Reverend Dartey said the Council remained an integral part of the Christian faith and a voice for the voiceless.
He said the past 80 years had not passed without challenges and commended members for their supportive efforts throughout the years.
Mr. Daniel Kofi Kwarteng, Chairman of the 80th Anniversary Planning Committee said plans were underway to construct a multi-purpose building with facilities such as conference rooms among other facilities, which would be rented to individuals and corporate bodies to generate funds for its activities.
Mr. Kwarteng said the Council had secured land at Brekuso in the Eastern Region for the facility.
The Council said details of the celebration would be announced soon.
