Ministers of the Methodist Church would now hold miracle healing services to heal and deliver sick and afflicted members from spiritual bondage. They have been challenged to do that to chuck the rising exodus of Wesleyans to the charismatic churches for deliverance.
It seems the new order of the day is miracle healings which has resulted in the rising numbers of the world-renowned miracle healer TB Joshua, of the Synagogue Church of all Nations.
The Right Rev. Professor Sarfo Kantanka, Bishop of the Kumasi Methodist Diocese, issued the Episcopal Decree at the climax of the annual four-day epic Prophetic and Healing Convention of the Kumasi Methodist Diocese at the last Kumasi Jubilee Park last Sunday.
Professor Kantanka has, therefore, ordered that ministers of the church set aside, at least, one Sunday every month for healing and deliverance, to which the sick and troubled would be brought to be healed. “There must be a day of testimonies to acknowledge the bounties of God on members,” he said.
Prof. Kantanka said the situation, whereby Wesleyans stream to other churches for deliverance, must cease. According to the Prelate, the Methodist Church is charismatic and should be able to stem the tide.
He said with the gift of the Holy Spirit and anointing, Satan’s yoke must be broken, emphasizing that “That nonsense of Satan’s bondage must stop.” He said there was anointing in the Methodist Church, and the yoke must be broken and charged. “Ministers must encourage and heal church members of their afflictions, so as not to let God down.”
He said it was not enough for Wesleyans and ministers to routinely recite the Apostles Creed, and not work with the Holy Spirit which empowers them to overcome “those obstacles in our families, home and entire livelihoods.”
The Bishop also called on the Methodist Church to create avenues that would arrest the phenomenon where the youth stream to other churches.
The very Rev. Christopher Nyarko Andam, Synod Secretary of the Church, officiated the service, held to climax the four-day crusade.
