The Head Pastor of Changed Life Baptist Church (CLBC), Reverend Sam Prince Achin, has bemoaned the act of indecent dressing in the country, especially among Christians.
Such negative practice, he noted, undermined the dignity bestowed on humanity by God.
He said the church had to step up its effort in discipleship to groom Christians to exhibit religious principles in their endeavours.
According to him, ministers of the gospel should focus more on discipleship when preaching to their members, since he believed that would instil spiritual discipline in Christians and make them more conscious of their way of life.
“Pastors must be led by the spirit to preach the gospel to nurture the spiritual life of Christians rather than preaching holistic messages to congregants,” he said.
Rev. Achin made this known in an interview with the Daily Graphic on the sideline of the launch of the 40th anniversary celebration of the CLBC last Sunday in Accra.
The year-long celebration was launched with a call on Christians to celebrate the benefits of God.
Dubbed, “Celebrating the benefits of our God”, the celebration brought together past heads of the church and other ministers of the gospel from other Baptist congregation.
As part of the year-long 40th anniversary celebration the CLBC will visit some prisons and mental hospitals in the country in May and also embark on a blood donation exercise to increase the blood stock at the Greater Accra Blood Bank.
Besides these, there will be other activities in December and March next year to encourage sharing among Christians and also spread the gospel to other individuals, as well as a thanksgiving service in April next year to climax the anniversary celebrations.
In his sermon, the Head Pastor of Living Fountain Baptist Church, Rev. Ala Adjetey, urged Christians to celebrate the goodness of God in their lives and also be a blessing to others.
According to him, Christians must have a forgiving heart since God forgave our sins and crowned us with love and passion.
“You must not only teach the values of Christ, but also be a sign post for others to emulate,” he added.
