Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah founder and Apostle General of the Royalhouse Chapel Churches worldwide and a leading father figure of the Charismatic movement, has added his voice to the raging debate over President Akufo-Addo’s proposed National Cathedral.
In a sermon delivered to church members, snippets of which are available online, Rev. Ankrah asked the president to be resolute in his ambition to build a National Cathedral and not to be swayed by the naysayers and detractors.
Quoting extensively from scripture, he drew parallels between the times of Zerubabel, who sought to rebuild for the Lord, what would have been the equivalent of the proposed National cathedral.
He further described and likened events at that time, the opposition Zerubabel faced, the criticisms and the arduous task the president had set for himself and the Nation.
He encouraged the president to keep his focus on such great initiative, while promising the support of the Christian Community in general.
It is almost obvious that the president, a man of his word, is bent on building a National Cathedral. As leading father figures and Christian leaders who wield great command over large numbers continue to pledge their support for the President’s dream, will a National Cathedral soon adorn the city’s skyline?

Nana will attempt to build this cathedral with states money he should just stop lying about the source of funding. He did the same with Ghana at 60 celebration ad others, but no significant contributions were made goat those projects. STOP THE LIES NANA and the so called Men of God
IT MARVELS ME WHEN THESE CHURCHES ARE ASKED TO PAY TAXES TO THE STATE AND THEY TURN ROUND TO CONDEMN SUCH A POLICY OR IDEA. THEY (PASTORS AND PRIESTS ALIKE) WANT TO ENJOY ALL THE GOODIES OF THE STATE SUCH AS HOSPITALS, ROADS, ELECTRICITY, SCHOOLS, AND YOU MENTION THEM BUT ARE NOT READY TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE STATE FOR THE POOR ONES LIKE MY DAD AND MUM TO ALSO ENJOY. ANYTIME THERE IS AN ISSUE IN THEIR (CHURHES) INTEREST THE PASTORS/PRIESTS WILL GO ALL OUT IN SUPPORT OF IT BUT WHEN IT COMES TO THEY (CHURCHES)CONTRIBUTING TO SMOE THEN THE THINK HELL SHOULD BREAK LOOSE. YET MY POOR DAD WHO SELLS TWO OR THREE TUBERS OF YAM OR A BAG OF MAIZE FROM HIS TWO ACRE LAND IS FORCED BY THE MARKET TAX FORCE TO PAY TAX TO BUILD THESE FACILITIES FOR THESE "EGOI8TIC" CHURCH LEADERS TO ENJOY. IT IS A BIG, BIG SHA*ME
Yes, the committee should create an online account which all those interested like me can contribute. May God richly bless the president for such good idea.
Yes l think churches. individuals and organisations can contribute. Either the government should make an appeal or some of the mega churches should kick the ball rolling by initiating a move.
Good call Rev... I believe the President's move will be more solidified if mega Churches like yours will openly pledge huge sums of money (which it possible) to this initiative; after all its to your benefit and to many. I hear Bishop Duncs seconds the move too. Christian community just do it rather than showing big houses and flashy cars.
