Farmers at Dodome, an Electoral area in the Ho Municipality are calling on the government to support them with processing machines to enable them turn farm produce into finished or semi-finshed goods.
In an interview with Ghanadistricts.com the Assemblyman for the area George Hovvmro stated that it had always aspire to process their farm produce such as cassava into gari and banana into fruit drinks.
He was certain that the provision of such facilities would ease the challenge of losing perishable goods as farmers would be able to use the processing machine to turn their fortunes around.
George Hovvmro also appealed to the Assembly to support farmers in the area with fertilizers, seeds and farm tools to enable them expand their farms.
He pleaded for soft loans for the farmers, which he noted could also be another way to motivate these farmers to cultivate more agriculture projects.
