Audio Attachment:Mr. Kwadwo Prah, father of the deceased (Ama Florence), who was allegedly murdered by the husband, narrates to PEACEFM News circumstances surrounding the unfortunate death of both husband and wife.

A 60 year old sachet water KIA driver, Edward Kwadwo Marfo, is suspected to have murdered his 25 year old wife, Ama Florence, before committing suicide in their rented apartment at Santa Maria, near Sowutuom, a suburb of Accra.

According to the Odorkor District Police Commander, Supt. Ebenezer Kweku Asare, they were informed at about 5am today, that a man had committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree, whiles the wife’s whereabouts was also unknown. It was only when the police got to the scene that a rather nauseating stench hit them with the presence of houseflies swarming all over a locked room.

When the police forced the door opened, they saw the lifeless body of Ama Florence, the wife of Edward Kwadwo Marfo, in a pool of blood and surrounded by a knife and a metal-bar.

The internal organs of Ama, who is a seamstress, gushed out from a deep cut on the deceased stomach.

The police suspect that the deceased might have been killed three days ago, due to the decomposing nature of the body and the powerful sickening smell.

In an interview with PEACEFM News, one Kwadwo Prah, who identified himself as the father of the deceased (Ama Florence), revealed that the couple have been quarrelling over petty issues recently.

“My son-in-law reported to me on numerous occasions about several attempts made by my daughter to divorce him….As a result of this, Edward Marfo banned my daughter from going to work…several attempts made by both family heads to restore peace in the marriage fell through,” he disclosed.

The couple had been married for about 6 years now, and left behind two children, aged 5 and 2 years.
