The Odorkor District Police Command has begun investigations into the alleged murder of a two-and-a-half-year-old boy at Agape near Ablekuma, an Accra suburb.
The body, which was in its advance stage of decomposition, was discovered in an isolated uncompleted building on Wednesday May 11, 2011 around 11am. No one has however claimed or identified the body.
Narrating the incident to Daily Guide, the Odorkor District Police Commander, Ebenezer Asare, indicated that he personally received a phone call from a resident of the area that a dead body had been found in the area. When policemen got to the scene around 12 noon, the body had almost decomposed so they could not instantly detect the gender of the decease.
�We took the body to the Korle-Bu teaching hospital where it was discovered that the deceased was a boy who would be about 2 � years.�
Superintendent Asare said that the family of the deceased had not been identified. Initial investigations revealed that the boy was not from the area. He however appealed to anybody who had lost a child to contact the police.
