The Bongo Anafobiisi Community Development Association (BANACOMDA) in the Bongo District has presented 125 goats to its members as part of its livestock project to promote their economic activities.
Speaking to the GNA at the presentation ceremony, the Chief of
Anafobiisi, Naba Anyanebah Akolgo Saabo II, said the economic
importance of livestock such as goats and sheep could not be under
estimated hence the move by BANACOMDA to help reduce poverty in the
area.
He said the association which was inaugurated in February,
studied the poverty level of the people and realized that the only way
their lives could improve quickly would be through the rearing of
goats.
The Project is receiving support from Dr Nana David Mensah, a
philanthropist and owner of a Carpentry business at Bole in the
Northern Region.
