President John Mills is courting support for the construction of the Volta and Brong Ahafo Universities from the Blackstone group.

The group is a leading investment and advisory firm in the US with interest in many companies such as the Hilton Hotels.

The President made the call when he met the chairman of the Blackstone group, Steven Shwarz-mann in New York.

President Mills is in New York attending the 66th UN General Assembly meeting.

The Blackstone Chairman in an interaction with President Mills indicated the willingness of the group to get its place in Ghana so as to contribute to the growth of the country.

Meanwhile, President Mills also at a separate meeting gave government’s assurance to Kosmos Energy in ensuring that they function properly in Ghana for the benefit of all.

The assertion came on the back of a similar pledge from Kosmos Energy to respect Ghana’s laws governing business activities.

This happened when the Chief Executive Officer of Kosmos Energy, Brian Maxtead paid a call on President Mills in New York.

The meeting according to Director of communications at the Presidency, Koku Anyidoho centered on Kosmos’ involvement in Ghana’s oil and Gas industry.

He told Citi News that the meeting was very fruitful with each party recognizing the roles played so far in Ghana’s fledging oil and Gas industry.
