The Police Administration has said those who joined the service with the sole aim of enriching themselves overnight by exploiting and exhorting money from people would be dealt with when caught.

“The Police Service is not a gold mine. It is a calling and demands a lot of sacrifice, endurance, selfishness and commitment,” he said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police John K Kudalor, Director General in charge of Operations, said this at a passing out ceremony parade for 141personnel, including 52 women, at the Police Training College at Pwalugu

He said the passing out of the new service personnel was in recognition of the Police Administration’s determination to provide security for the nation and also aimed at bridging the police/ civilian gap.

Mr Kudalor said as the 2012 election draws near, the Police Administration had a daunting task to protect the country’s democratic credentials by teaming up with other security agencies to ensure peace and stability.

He appealed to police personnel to demonstrate neutrality, treat all persons with respect, civility and stay clear of any partisan inclinations.
