Mr Miloslav Machalek, Czech Ambassador in Ghana, on Tuesday said Aqua Steril, a disinfectant for emergency drinking water, was a product with unique technology that kills harmful bacteria when in contact with contaminated water.

“People depend on water for daily activities but when contaminated due to floods, there is the likelyhood of outbreak of cholera. Use Aqua Steril for immediate and quick solution for safe drinking water,” he said.

Mr Machalek said this when presenting three boxes of Aqua Steril, comprising a carton of two Extreme Kit, a carton of 20 Camp Kit and a carton of 1000 Well Kit to the National Secretariat of National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) in Accra. He said Aqua Steril products did not alter the taste or chemical composition of water.

Mr Sytevester Azantilow, Deputy National Coordinator in-charge of Administration, receiving the items expressed appreciation to Czech Republic for its involvement in Ghana's national development.
He urged water producing companies to take advantage of the product.

Aqua Steril products are used for rinsing wounds and foodstuffs, drinking and cooking as well as preventing intestinal problems and filtrate unsafe water.
