Kwame Aki, 31 a Mason, is in the grips of the Aflao Police for allegedly stealing underground cables belonging to Vodafone.
The cables which, the suspect rolled into 15 separate coils, is estimated at GH�13,000.00.
His accomplice is on the run.
A source closed to the Aflao Police told the Ghana News Agency that Aki, who is resident at Aflao, was engaged by Vodafone as a temporary worker last year to lay underground cables.
The source said at about 1100 hours on Sunday, June 23, Aki and his accomplish called Abdallah, dug out the cable near the Roman Catholic Basic School at Aflao, cut it into pieces and rolled it into separate coils to ease transportation.
He said a policeman passing by saw Aki loading the cables onto a taxi and arrested him on suspicion.
Abdallah however escaped.
