The leadership of the Judicial Service Staff Association (JUSSAG) has confirmed to Citi News that government has issued cheques for the payment of allowance arrears owed them.

The Association had planned to embark on a nationwide strike on Tuesday August 27, two days before the Supreme Court delivers its judgment on the 2012 presidential election petition.

In an interview with Citi News, President of the Association, Francis Brakwa said there is still an outstanding allowance yet to be paid by government.

He however, said the association has given government up to the end of Monday to pay the remaining allowance before they will take a decision to call off the planned strike.


The Finance Ministry is said to have released cheques to pay some of the allowanced owed the Judicial Service Staff Association.
