Nigerian Scrap Dealer Attacked By Unknown Assailant

A 35-year- old Nigerian scrap dealer, Paul Amah was attacked by an unknown assailant at Kokompe, a suburb of Takoradi in the Western Region.

The victim, who sustained serious injuries, had been admitted at the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital for treatment.

The Regional Public Relations Officer of Ghana Police Service, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Olivia Ewurabena Adiku told Ghana News Agency in Sekondi that on November 20 the victim went to Accra with one of his workers one Chidi, also a Nigerian, to sell scrap and earned GH˘ 80,000 from the sale.

She said when they returned from Accra around 2200 hours, Amah told Chidi to go home whilst he went to inspect the shop at Kokompe.

The police said Amah was stabbed at the shop by an unknown assailant but managed to escape.

ASP Adiku said the next day, when Amah was on his way home, he was shot on the left side of the stomach by another unknown assailant but people who heard the gun shot came to his aid and rushed him to the hospital.

She said while Amah was on admission, he kept on mentioning the name of one “Worried King” who had since been arrested by the police to assist in the investigations.

Meanwhile, Chidi who is suspected to be the mastermind behind the attack is currently on the run.
