The Police Administration has directed the regional commanders in charge of the Accra-Aflao, Accra-Cape Coast-Takoradi roads to put in strategic measures to prevent accidents on those roads during this Easter season.
The directive is in response to the high number of accidents recorded on those roads in previous Easter seasons.
The Director General in charge of MTTD, ACP Angwubotuge Awuni, told Radio Ghanas correspondent that the police together with the road safety Commission and the DVLA have currently embarked on a nationwide education on road safety.
ACP Awuni advised the public to cooperate with the police to ensure an incident free Easter.
He warned that lawless drivers will be dealt with in accordance with the laws of the land, adding that the quest for friendly police-public relations should not be interpreted to mean weakness on the part of the police.
