A portion of the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in the Western Region has caught fire as a result of power outages.
The electrical connections to the wards of the hospital could not stand the force that usually accompanied restoration of power after an outage.
Mr. K. K. Boakye, an official of the hospital, said though the facility had prevailed upon the ECG to take them off the load shedding, the situation still persisted.
He said the situation was poising great challenge towards quality health care delivery particularly surgeries and emergency.
Mr. Boakye said the hospital spent about 3000 cedis each time they had to fuel the generator plant, a situation that was greatly affecting their operations.
