The wife of the late Vice President, Hajia Mahama, has commended President John Dramani Mahama for honouring his late husband with the just-ended second National Sanitation.
Hajia Ramatu made these remarks when a delegation led by the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr. Julius Debrah, stopped over at her residence at Cantonments in Accra, during his inspection tour of various communities engaged in the National Sanitation Day programme on Saturday.
The exercise marked the second edition of the National Sanitation Day which was in memory of the late Vice President, Alhaji Aliu Mahama who devoted himself to the cause of cleanliness.
She said the family was excited, and appreciated the honour by the government and the people of Ghana. Hajia Ramatu said the initiative meant Ghanaians still remember the commitment of her late husband.
Mr. Debrah, expressed his appreciation of the level of commitment by the people to the exercise.
