Thirty-two suspected criminals, from 15 to 30 years, have been rounded up by Madina Divisional Police Command led by the Divisional Commander, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSOP) Aggrey Yakubu Nantogmah.
The operation took place within the hours of 1230 am and 1.00 am on Wednesday at Madina in La-Nkwantanang-Madina Municipality in response to the murder of a security guard at Melcom Super Market during an armed robbery.
CSOP Nantogmah told Ghana News Agency that the police made the arrest at their hideouts at Nkulelu, Jamaica, Madina Melcom and Ayemba Market.
He said in addition 45 motorbikes were impounded.
CSOP Nantogmah said some of the items found on the suspects included dried leaves suspected to be Indian-hemp, large quantities of electric cables, gambling machines, offensive weapons and hard liquor.
He said the suspected criminals would be screened and those found culpable would be arraigned.
