A fifty- five year- old butcher was shot dead by unidentified gun men at Nkawkaw Zongo last Saturday night.
According to an eye witness, the butcher, Tanko Zakaria was in his room at Nkawkaw Zongo when he heard a knock on his door at about 9 30 pm .
When he came out of the room, he met three armed men in masks and one of them shot him at close range killing him instantly.
Speaking to Ghana News Agency, the Nkawkaw Crime Officer, Superintendent of Police Kweku Duah said, when the police had the information, they went to the house to found the deceased in a pool of blood and took the body to Nkawkaw Holy Family Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
He said no arrest had been made but the police had intensified their investigation for the arrest of the unidentified assailants.
Supt Duah appealed to the people to assist the police with the needed information about the assailants for their arrest and prosecution.
