Fulani Herdsmen in Agogo have promised to put up measures to avoid a brawl with the residents of the area after the Regional Security Council resolved to evict the nomads and their cattle from the area.
The decision of the REGSEC followed complaints of residents whose farms had been destroyed by grazing cattle belonging to the Fulani herdsmen.
The residents also reported violent attacks on some residents by the Fulani herdsmen.
The age long menace has been a protracted security concern to the region for some years now with no lasting solution. The regional minister who lead REGSEC to the area promised to activate operation COW LEG which was introduced previously to curb the situation.
Meanwhile at a meeting organized at Ananekrom in Agogo with the police, the Fulani chief of Agogo Alhaji Boba promised to put measures to prevent destruction of farms in the area.
