Lydia Adzorsu, a 16-year old school girl, has renewed her appeal to philanthropists to help her pay for the cost of surgery on her fingers, to enable her live normal life, and get back to school.

Renewing her appeal through the Ghana News Agency, Adzorsu said it was not possible for her to manipulate or use her left fingers to undertake any task, due to her medical condition, and this made her drop out of school about three years ago.

She recounted that she developed the condition when she was eight years old, while serving as a maid to a Nigerian woman.

She alleged that the woman held her left hand and placed it on top of a hot lantern, to force her to admit that she stole her money.
An x-ray scan taken at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital has identified an abnormality in all her five fingers.

She said, "They asked us to bring GHC500 for surgery on my fingers, but my mother doesn't have it. I am ready to go back to school if I can be helped to have normal fingers."
