Executive Director of the Consumer Protection Agency,Kofi Kapito says he would have resigned as an Accra Mayor if he were occupying the position currently.
“Me, and I repeat, if I were Okoe Vanderpuije, I would have resigned today…,” he said on Asempa FM Thursday while commenting on the Accra disaster which have claimed hundreds of lives.
According to him, the Mayor has failed in executing his job and hence demands to be sacked from his post.
Kofi Kapito’s call comes in the wake of similar one by Pressure Group, Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG) for him to be sacked from his post.
Accra experienced what the President described as ‘close to unprecedented flood disaster’ with a filling station killing hundreds.
The President called for drastic measures to be taken to ensure that it never occurs again.
The Mayor who was recently awarded as the Mayor of Mayors in Africa is under intense pressure to give up his post for failing to do his work well.
