Persons with albinism are calling on government to stop discrimination and attacks against them.
The group say government has been silent on the attacks of albinos accusing government of failing to safeguard their rights in the country.
It also say several of them have been murdered for ritual purposes without a voice to fight for them.
Addressing a Press conference ahead of the international Albinism Awareness Day which falls on June 13th, Adams Abdul Wahab, Advocacy officer for the group enumerated some challenges they’re contending with, calling on government to show commitment in protecting albinos from attacks and discrimination.
“Persons with albinism are adopted, discriminated against or in some instances being used for rituals but the government of Ghana has not done anything to address this issue.”
