The Ministry of the Interior has on the advice of the Northern Regional Security Council and by the Executive Instrument renewed the curfew hours on Kpatinga from 12:00 midnight to 4:00am.
A statement issued in Accra by Mr Prosper Bani, Minister of the Interior and copied to the Ghana News Agency said the time changes took effect from Friday, May 20.
It urged chiefs, opinion leaders, the youth in the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them and use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace.
It noted that there is a total ban on all persons in Kpatinga and its surrounding areas from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapon, and that any person found with these weapons would be arrested and prosecuted.
