Very Reverend Dr Emmanuel Asare-Kusi, the Superintendent Minister of the Adweso Circuit of the Methodist Church, has said it is not enough to pray for peace without conscious efforts being made to ensure it prevails.

He said God will ensure peace when human beings called on him but we also need to play our roles to ensure that peace prevails.

Rev Dr Emmanuel Asare-Kusi was speaking at the Founders Day Community Aerobics  and Peace Talk organized  by the Adweso   Adehyie Keep fit Club in collaboration with the Adweso Local Council of Churches at Adweso  Low Cost Park near Koforidua.

The gathering which attracted a large number of people was the second in the series of the annual exercise organized by the Adweso Adehyie Keep Fit Club to promote good health among the people in the Adweso area.

He called for tolerance and the need to accommodate the views of others.

Rev Henry E. Ofori of the Assemblies of God Church- Adweso said it is impossible for all Ghanaians to belong to one political party adding that holding differing views from that of a neigbour does not mean the two are enemies.

Mr Ebenezer Acheampong, an official of the National Commission on Civic Education (NCCE), urged the electorate to vote on issues and not on political affiliations.

Mr Zimmran Clottey, a member of the Pace Setters Artist Club, said his organization is collaborating with some institutions to nominate peace ambassadors to promote peace across the country.

He appealed to all Ghanaians to ensure that peace prevails in the coming polls.

Earlier in a welcoming address, Mr Paa Kwesi Smile Siaw, the leader of the Adehyie Keep Fit Club, said the Founders Day aerobic exercise is organized annually by the Club to help promote good health among the people in the community.

He appealed for more support to enable the club to maintain its annual sports programmes.
