The Police in the Northern region have arrested five persons suspected to be supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for allegedly seizing a revenue collection point on the Savelugu-Kpalung road.
Seizure of public properties including toll booths became rampant immediately after the change of government. President Akufo-Addo condemned the act in his State of the Nation Address to Parliament on Wednesday.
A police source told the state-owned Daily Graphic the ring leader of the group known as Abdulai Alhassan Gariba, 32, is currently behind bars with four others.
The source revealed an AK-47 assault rifle was found hidden in the engine compartment of a taxi he was driving at the time of arrest.
In addition two magazines loaded with 32 rounds of ammunitions were also found concealed under the driver’s seat; a machete was found in the boot of the car.
Investigations are still ongoing into the case.

I now understand why NDC lost the last election. I believe it was divine intervention by God to save Ghana from civil war. The activities of Npp hoodlums after the election clearly suggests that if they had not won a he election, by now most of us would have run out of this country. They must have piled a lot of guns elsewhere looking for opportunities to use them, so because God swerved them the guns have become use.less and therefor they are carrying it openly. If nana Addo is really a law abiding leader, then it would be proper for him to ask all his followers who contemplated violence but were served to lay down their tools. If this is not done, chances are that they keep them and in the next elections they would use it against the Npp leadership if they had failed them, as they will surely failed them.
The good news is that they are behind bars unlike the past when 2 people were butchered in front of a police station and nothing was done and the police claim they did not see the brutal incident. CHange has come!! Arrest them all!!Prosecute them!!
NPP has defended every bad thing as good. So the everyboy is telling including the police is also telling lies?? Hmmmm!! Time will tell. By the fruit we shall know them.
So now any bad person is an NPP suppoerter, this cheap propaganda must put to stop
