Uganda has been named the best English Speaking country in Africa. The study conducted by World Linguistic Society names Uganda as top, followed by Zambia, South Africa and Kenya.
According to reports, the study revelations have risen amid video from a Miss Rwanda contestant who reportedly failed to express herself in English. In 2015, one of the beauty queens in the Miss Rwanda pageant, Uwase Honorine, could hardly answer questions asked by the judges.
Rwanda, a former French speaking country embraced English after a fall out with France, marking the move from francophone to Anglophone political divide.
English is Uganda’s official language and the language of instruction in schools and institutions in the country. Children start studying the language as early as pre-primary school.
Recently, the Government instructed schools to teach in vernacular in the lower primary, but still maintained English as a subject in the children’s curriculum.

Uganda,hahaha.I reserve my comment.
Do they speak Dagbani better than Ghanaians?
Are you all blind reading this? Check the source of this article. Its from Uganda. Uganda people english are very poor and they speak like Nigerians. When they speak english you cannot understand them.
I agree with you. I will have been sad if it turned out that Ugandans speak the best of local languages not English. English is for foreigners
The pigin don't plenty too much with our neighbours. As for Ghana, just too know they cause am. What some of us trying to slang like the Brits when we have not even cross the Sahara desert yet. Is not too late after all, it is not our mother tongue. We can go back and learn more. As for the White, they are always cheating us. How many of them can speak Yoruba, Akan, Ife, etc.
We think we know better, but hey , some of our pronunciations are very bad. This is largely because, phonetics i not widely taught in our english classes. This is the remedy. If you are not sure of any word, just look it up online, click on the speaker icon, and listen to how it is pronounced!!
AFRICANS, WE WILL ALWAYS BE SLAVES.HOW CAN WE BE COMPETING AMONG OURSELVES OVER SOMEONE ELSES' LANQUAGE.
I agree with you
What metrics were used?
Not, not, not and never be true . Zimbabwe and South Africa can't be in front of Ghana. I have lived in SA for two years and my girlfriend was a Zimbabwean. We all lived and worked together in some communities and do all things together . I can only say their ascent is different but we Ghanaians speak a better English than them . We used to correct them grammatically and guided them how they could form sentences . Both black and white in the SA are very poor in English so I don't agree with this research. I think Ghana should have been number one or two .
