The Member of Parliament (MP) for Akwatia Constituency in the Eastern Region, Ama Sey has revealed that she dropped out of school in Form 4 at Akwatia Presby.
The lawmaker insists she has no regrets reading the Independence Day speech on behalf of the president that has gone viral on various social media platforms.
“I dropped out of school in Form 4, it is not that I cannot read or understand when you speak English. I can do all except that I have a deficiency in the flow of the Queens language which is not my mother tongue. People should be very patient with me, very soon I will speak English and it will shock many”, she said.
According to her, she has been encouraged by the criticisms to strive for the best while others are praising her for the splendid performance appealing to those making a good laugh of the issue to rather help her to do her best.
The Hairdresser turned MP made headlines last week with her speech which has gone viral on social media with section of the public wondering how she would be able to communicate in parliament.
But she has allayed fears insisting she is working on her knowledge of English Language to become abreast with issues and procedures of the house in order to give off her best.

Look, some Akwatia people don't feel embarrassed after making the mistake. Who told them if someone can flow in english it means the person has the capacity to reason in paliament? Half bake people who can write English are also praising her. Not bothered about the consequences of the mistake they have done. Time will tell.
No wonder, NPP have said this over and over again that even if they present goat, they'll vote for them. So anything goes. No wonder paliament has become the platform for mockery. Look at the likes of this woman and Kennedy Agyapong. I'm envisaging very soon Abronye will also come. Paliament is meant for serious business. Not a joke arina. Form 4 leaver knew competence as a hair dresser, why should Akwatia people descend so low? Is there no level headed person there? My goodness!
Ama, dont worry. Prepare hard and floooooow in April. Yer taa wer tsi!
This woman is worth celebrating in Ghana but unfortunately we live in a nation where F00OLISHNESS abound and we rate ones ability to speak English (someones' language ) as intelligent. Meanwhile we appointed a Professor in English (Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman) as Education Minister and we saw the mess to the point that she even lost application of common sense in cases hence going to sign Montie Petition.
Am proud of her. How many of us can make it to this level upon our education . let us all learn from her. never give up. God is it with you.
Honourable, continue, I pray that soon and very soon you will speak the language like something, Madam, whenever you have a problem speak twi. All the best.
Good way of motivating her to learn harder. opportunity for her in life.
She is a positive vibe for Africans. especially our mothers who never got the chance to attend school. Shame on people who are not able to see the bigger picture. If you are lucky to have good early education for which English has not been a stress, thank your maker.
