A driver and his mate endured some painful strokes of a cane on Friday morning from a man in military uniform at 37 for allegedly violating road traffic regulations.
An amateur video footage available to citifmonline.com showed the man in uniform subjecting the driver’s mate to some lashes, having instructed him to bend.
Reports say that the two were being punished for wrongfully parking at the 37 branch of Total filling station to pick a passenger.
Picking a passenger anywhere besides a designated bus stop violates the country’s road traffic regulations but most drivers especially in the country’s capital, Accra, blatantly violate this regulation, stopping to pick passengers or allow those onboard to alight at undesignated areas.
37 in Accra, is a military zone, hosting various military installations including the Military Hospital, Burma Camp, Air Force Officers’ mess among others.

keep it up soldier, lash them well, well, they are indiscipline.
I strongly feel that the army high command should immediately hand over this ***barred word*** to the police for prosecution. This barbaric attitude belongs to the stone age. You could have arrested them and handed them over to the airport police. Did he kill a human being? Even murderers will not be treated like this. And people there should have stood up to this @_n_i_m_@_l in uniform. ***barred word*** ara kwa!!
I use that stretch of road each morning on my way to work; i bet you will weep at the misbehaviour of the trotro drivers right infront of the main 37 gate. Without care, these trotro drivers just jump into the main road blocking it. As in that is not enough, they all stop right in the middle there for ppl to alight and board. Next time sogya lafia
