The Gyasehene of Gomoa Fetteh, Nana Ekow Enyinda, has appealed to journalists to focus on propagating the good things in Gomoa Fetteh and stop tarnishing the image of the town with unnecessary reports regarding their chieftaincy matters.
He said the media could do the community a great deal of good if they focused their attention more on the development of the area, since that was more important to the growth of the country.
Nana Ekow Enyinda was addressing a press conference on Saturday where he indicated that Gomoa Fetteh needed development and growth hence, the unnecessary hype of the chieftaincy issues would not help, and urged government to come to their aid.
He, however, denied rumors in the media that, Gomoa Fetteh still did not have a legitimate Chief and also cautioned journalists to investigate issues well before coming to the public.
According to him, Kingmakers and elders have installed Nana Abor Yamoah who has been on the stool for the past 17years as their chief, and said, “…where he comes from doesn’t matter. We have a chief. It is regrettable to hear people say especially you the media men, that Gomoa Fetteh has no chief. That is false, we have a chief. Look at the unprecedented developmental projects he has brought and continue to bring to this community. He has built a police station, market, clinic and other projects he is undertaking. That is what we need as people, development.”
He also extended a hand to companies which are willing to come to the area with factories that “We are ready to receive them, since that will also bring development and create jobs for our people.”
Meanwhile, the Asafohene of Gomoa Fetteh, Nana Kwesi Quansah popularly known as Kwesi Alhaji, also appealed to the President of National House of Chiefs, Togbe Afede, to stand firm and set up an investigation team to investigate Gomoa Fetteh chieftaincy disputes immediately so that, peace could prevail in the town.
For his part, Nii Bokoboko, who also spoke on behalf of the youth in the town, called on President Nana Akufo-Addo to solve land litigation issues on the Gomoa lands since that had also become a major cause of division in the community, with the emergence of land guards in Gomoa Fetteh.

Nana Abor Yamoah sold my land to another person. Double selling by chiefs is illegal so deal with him. This is why there is no peace.
I am from Gomoa Fetteh and its very sad listening to sub-chiefs talking like this. Its a shame for Nana Ekow Enyinda to say something like that. Where is Nana Abor Yamoah from in the first place? Its a very big disgrace for a man of Nana Kwesi Quansah's caliber to bring land guards to the town to terrorize people just because they want to sell people's lands and the chief of the land is denying knowledge of it. There are a whole lot of issues going on in this town but the chief and sub chiefs are denying knowledge about it.
