Dr. Aggrey Darko a Political Science Lecturer at the university of Ghana, Legon calls for public education on lynching as he describes this act as irresponsible madness.

According to him Ghana is cited as a democratic Country and the Rule of Law must be highly enforced, though in large measure it most citizenry obey these laws, people still take into their hands and act irresponsibly citing it as 'madness'.

He continued by stating that no matter how isolated such cases are they must be dealt with head on.

Dr. Darko made the statement during a telephone interview on Ahotor FM's Morning Show with Emmanuel Quarshie as host. In a discussion on the death of Captain Maxwell Mahama, in a lynching and burning at Denkyira Obuasi in the central region.

Adam Mahama was from a family of service men, According to his Uncle, the Inventor Fred Mc Bagonluri, he was the great grandson of H.W.M Bamford, who served as the Inspector General of Police (1924-1938) for 14 years during British Colonial rule in Gold Coast.

Coming from a family of service men, he entered into the army at a very early age, and rose rapidly to the rank of Captain.

Dr. Darko told the host that "certain institutions must be strengthened, by giving them resources to operate and build their capacity. He also continued by stating that public education must be utilized well.

"This thing can happen to anybody, you can find yourself at a place where someone will wrongly accuse you of thievery. If instant justice and mob action continues to take place, then it is dangerous".

"Looking forward certain institutions must be established to protect us in such situations and ensure no one abuse the law", Dr. Aggrey fumed.

It is also noted that, President Nana Akuffo Addo has assured Captain Maxwell Mahama's family that the Security agencies will leave no stone unturned in smoking out the perpetrators. He stressed that: No one involved in his murder will go free.

The Former President John Mahama posted on his Twitter handle his condolences to Capt. Mahama's father, Capt Chubby Adam Mahama (retired).
