One of the men captured in a video of the lynching of Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama, has been found dead. The body was found at Modase, a nearby community in Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central Region.
Police found the body in a pool of blood early Thursday. It is not clear what may have caused his death but Nhyira FM said, police have begun investigations into this latest development.
The deceased held in his hand a polyethene which contained an identity card bearing the name Francis Bio, aged 46. Diaso District Commander, ASP Osei-Adu Agyemang who confirmed the story to Ohemeng will not give further details.
“The Assemblyman for Modaso, one Isaac Aidoo lodged a complaint with the Diaso Police informing them about the discovery of the body of a male adult in front of an uncompleted building at the outskirts of the town. "According to the Assemblyman, this body was found this morning when residents from the community woke up…” Ohemeng reported.
Capt. Maxwell Adam Mahama is seen in a video shot of the incident and circulated on social media, surrendering his weapon before the mob carried out their dastardly act. The mob later claimed they mistook him for an armed robber because he carried a weapon.
The fallen officer, whom many have described as decent and gentle, died on Monday, May 29, after he was beaten, stoned and burnt by residents of Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central Region while he had gone for his usual early morning physical exercise.
At least seven persons, including the Assemblyman for Denkyira-Obuasi, William Baah, are in the grip of the Central Region Police after a joint military cum police swoop in the town early Tuesday.

Good job, they even deserve more.***barred word*** people of denkyira.killed them all.
KILL ALL GIRL AND BOYS IN THE TOWN TO SERVE AS A LESION TO GENERATION YET TO BE BORN
men in camo on revenge. we will deal with them in our own way.
The police need to make more arrests. The laws of Ghana stipulate that anyone who witnesses such an act without making a report to the police has also committed a felony. Those who stood by and watched this act of untold cruelty are all culpable.I doubt if throughout all this the soldier did not tell them that he was a military man and they should send him to the police station. These ***barred word*** barbarians obviously decided to go ahead with murder anyway even though a simple visit to the police station would have resolved this. I hope everyone who took part in this heinous crime dies a painful death.I think the commanders should have allowed the soldiers to raze the town to the ground and plough the whole place with salt.
This behavior of the people show people losing trust in the justice system of Ghana. This can happen to anybody ,We are all not safe .The media must take this up ,teach the people to do the right thing and the church must also join .Further the media must also advice the police ,lawyers and the Judges also perform their duties honesty. Those who raise alarm should first noted .To the citizens stop using phone for taking videos and pictures of victims .If it were their mother or father will they circulate this.To my brothers soldiers you've done well .This said village is noted for lawlessness ,if commanders will allow us to burn at least ten houses but we kill or beat anybody.
***barred word*** death. Village ***barred word***. His death is ***barred word*** death. God will curse all of them one by one.
