Emmanuel Boryor, Assembly Nember of Mpoase Electoral Area, Dansoman, has been granted GH10,000 bail by the Accra Circuit Court, for causing harm.
The accused, pleaded not guilty to the charge of causing harm, and the case had been adjourned to October 2, 2017.
Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Francis Tassan, told the court presided by Emmanuel Essandoh that Kwabina Mensah, the complainant, was attacked by the accused and some young men at Glefe, on September 4, 2017.
The court heard that Mensah, a businessman, and resident of Glefe, Dansoman, sent three of his workers to pump water into a tanker from the Glefe Lagoon, close to where the accused operates his office.
Chief Insp Tassan said the workers filled the water tanker twice, but when they went to fetch the water for the third time, Boryor, accused them of not seeking his permission and seized the pump machine.
Chief Insp. Tassan said the accused further alleged that the operators of the tanker had destroyed trees he grew along the lagoon, and said he would release the machines to them only if the trees were replanted.
Prosecution said the workers informed their boss about the incident, and he pleaded with the accused to release the machines.
Chief Insp. Tassan said that the plea of the complainant fell on deaf ears and Boryor assaulted him (complainant) resulting in the loss of his teeth.
The court heard that Kwabina, who was with blood strains, was rescued by some commercial vehicle drivers.
Chief Insp. Tassan said the case was reported to the police and the accused was arrested.
