Anti-corruption campaigner, Vitus Azeem, says President Akufo-Addo should invite the Deputy Director of the CID, ACP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah to the flagstaff house if he truly wants to fight corruption.
He was reacting to a leaked tape on which Madam Yaa Tiwaa appears to suggest that the Police lopsided its report in an investigation into allegations of corruption leveled against some state officials by A-Plus.
According to Vitus Azeem, the President will help clear the minds of Ghanaians as far as the Police report is concerned.
Controversial Musician, Kwame Asare Obeng affectionately called A Plus, alleged Francis Asenso Boakye and Samuel Abu Jinapor, the two deputy Chiefs of Staff, are corrupt; prompting the President to call for thorough investigations into the matter in his resolve to fight corruption under his administration.
The Police CID subsequently invited him (A-Plus) to their headquarters for interrogation and to provide further evidence to his claims.
Subsequently, the Deputy Chiefs of Staff were cleared of any acts of corruption because the musician failed to substantiate the claims of corruption against them.
However, barely two weeks after that report, a leaked tape containing the voice of A Plus and the female investigator contradicting the contents of the final report has surfaced.
"as for the corruption aspect of it, from what you said and what we’ve gone to confirm, you wouldn’t be too far from right to say that this is what happened, but we need to manage… the people are your people. We need to find the best way to ensure that Korle Bu works the way we all want it to work....
“....I feel sad for Nana, I think he has good intentions but he is not going to achieve them. You need somebody who’ll be neutral to tell them exactly what is there for them to understand and I wish I could have an audience with the President himself. Because it looks like most of the things doesn’t get to him…yes I feel sad for him,” Maame Yaa Tiwaa allegedly said on the leaked tape.
However in a personal statement issued Thursday, Madam Yaa Tiwaa said the telephone conversation between her and A-plus "has been doctored and/or edited to achieve a deliberate, mischievous and evil purpose".
Speaking in an interview on Citi Eyewitness news, Thursday, Vitus Azeem said “if the President is really serious about fighting corruption, since the voice tape said the fellow wished she could have access to the president to express her frustration, whether it is true or not, I’m sure the President has heard that so to clear the minds of Ghanaians, the president should invite the policewoman and listen to her. I think that is the best approach…. As the president, we trust him and we have confidence in him so whatever that conversation comes up with, if he puts it in the public domain, majority of Ghanaians will believe him,” he said.
CHRAJ
The Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) which is an independent body established to protect fundamental human rights and to ensure good governance for every person in Ghana, can take up this issue (A-Plus/Corruption/leaked tape) and investigate, according to Vitus Azeem.
He said because CHRAJ is an independent body and it is not under the umbrella of the Executive, its findings are likely to be accepted.
“From the conversations that have gone on, there appears to be some credibility gap that will need further questioning and investigations. CHRAJ too can on its own take the matter and investigate because it is an allegation of corruption,” he said.

NPP, and for that matter, Nana Addo must learn a lesson from the disgraced NDC failure. As much as is good to recruits young people at sensitive positions in his young government, he should avoid the loudmouths, abusive and unintelligent ones . Some of these uncultured young men were the caused of NDC down fall. And is about to happen in this NPP government. I can't understand the heck this so called unintelligent staffer, called Nii Tagoe want at the presidency. Yes he mighty have contributed to the success of the party victory, but his actions and inactions shows he is not intelligent enough, and should not get closer to the presidency. He with the connivance of some greedy NPP members are the originators of this corruption allegations against these two hard working staffers, Jinapo and Asenso. Yes I won't rule out mischievous NDC. A plus is just robot been used. And f oolishly as he has always been, he is enjoying
THE PRESIDENT DOES NOT NEED TO GET INTO LITTLE MATTERS WHEN WE HAVE INSTITUTIONS OF THE STATE TO DO THAT. THE NANA ADDO GOVERNMENT SHOULD NOT BE DISTRACT WITH ANY TRIVIAL MATTER. THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD INSPIRE TRANSPARENCY BUT THEY SHOULD ALLOW SYSTEMS TO WORK WITHOUT INTERFERENCE. THE OUTCOME OF CID INVESTIGATION SHOULD BE MADE PUBLIC TO STOP THE PERPETRATORS OF MISCHIEF FROM PEDDLING WITH LIES. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM OF THE GOVERNMENT GIVE OUT ALL NECESSARY INFORMATION TO THE PUBLIC AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO CUT DOWN SPECULATION, LIES AND PROPAGANDA AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT AND ITS FUNCTIONARIES.
Interesting, a police investigator feeling sad for the government? " I feel sad for Nana" indeed. It means Nana addo has appointed his kinsmen in the police service to cover up for him, if not how would the police woman feel sad for being asked to investigate corruption. Appeatu was quick to order the arrest of Appiah stadium for saying Nana addo smoke weed, but when it comes to investigating corruption he negotiate with a whistle blower to drop the allegations because it will hurt Nana addo. What type of country are we building. Who is going to respect the police. The lady should resign ASAP. We can't have cronyism in the police service. When a law enforcer feels sad for a culprit, how can she enforce the law fairly. By the way, the minority are also sitting down doing nothing about the BOST investigation too. They need to resurrect the issue. It can't die like that.
Hahahaha, you want Nana Ado to investigate his sister? do you know the reason why he kept his nephew at the finance ministry, his sister as chief Justice, his another sister as attorney general and this one as CID second boss? who will investigate who when the thing is family business? it is sad the whole nation has been turned into zombies and mumus being ruled by family gangs like Kim Jong Hil of north Korea. Sad.
If Nana Addo-Danquah invites Mrs. Addo-Danquah, what will you get?
Mine take on this matter of A-Plus is SAD !!!!!and will and can tarnish the image of Nana Addo; Nana Addo should be VERY CAREFUL about certain individuals in his government and whether you belice the police officer or not her comments sounded credible ; IT IS SAD !!!!!!and Ghanaians will regret it when the apple cards of Nana Addo's credibility starts crumbling because Nana Addos credibility as a corrupt person is attempting to over shadow his good intention ; the long list of corrupt activities right under the noses of Nana Addo is starting to spread 'Agye bia Bira'-EBON PAAA !!!!; Nana Addo should WAKE UP NOW at the flagstaff house and stop this happy goo lucky english public school boy behaviour just like Boris jOgn in the UK ; Nana Addo wants everybody to like him ; THIS IS WRONG ; the man should put his foot down !!!because this A-PLUS scandal is rather untidy ; what does a musician know about the oil industry to be given such contracts bt Nana Addo ; the question is has Nana Addo despite his english aritocratic tonation falling prey to the toxic ebola virus of coruuption ; if that is the case Nana Addo will have disapointed a lot of people ; for me Nana Addo is corrupt and involved in these corruption scandals ; WAKE UP NANA ADDO !!!!; the QUESTION IS NANA ADDO CORRUPT ?
