National Farmers' Day is commemorated each year to honour Ghanaian farmers and fishermen. The occasion is also used to acknowledge the vital position farmers and fishermen occupy in the nation's socio-economic development.
The day is usually marked as a public holiday.
This year’s National Farmers' Day celebration will be held in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region under the theme: 'Farming for Food and Jobs'.
