Ahmed Husein-Suale, the undercover investigator of the Tiger Eye PI Team, was responding to a request to send his ailing niece to the hospital when he was murdered on Wednesday night.

He was reportedly shot at around 1000 hours by two unknown assailants on a motorcycle at the Catholic Church Taxi Rank area at Madina.

Ahmed was rushed to the Alpha (Pentecost) Hospital in the area and then transferred to the Police Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. His body has since been deposited at the Morgue.

Abdulai Sulemana, Hussein-Suale’s cousin, told the GNA that the journalist received a call from a brother he lived with that they had to send their sick niece to the hospital for treatment.

He said Hussein-Suale had, before the call was hanging out with his ‘Dagomba Brothers’ at a base where they usually met in the evenings to eat, drink tea and discuss the topical matters of the day.

Hussein-Suale in response to the call left for their Madina Estates home, which was about 100 metres from where he was shot.

The family said the shooting happened in front of a lotto kiosk, quite close to the family house.

Narrating the incident to a team from the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service, the family members revealed that the suspected assailants were earlier seen entering a nearby bar, which was about 45 meters from the Family House.

They bought two bottles of malt and sat behind the wall of the Catholic Church.

The family revealed that shortly after Hussein-Suale had moved his car, they heard the gun shots but they thought it was an ordinary fire cracker from playing children.

However, someone in the area rushed to them and informed them that their brother had been shot.

When they arrived at the scene, he was trapped in the car, which had jumped the road to hit a Hair Salon across the street.

Meanwhile, the Family of Anas Aremeyaw Anas has visited the family members of Hussein-Suale.

Hussein-Suale has been involved in many investigative documentaries on corruption and heinous crimes, including the No 12 Expose of the Ghana Football Association, which led to the dismissal of its President, Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi.

The Police have expressed their resolve to carry out painstaking investigations to arrest the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
